Come to the wharf for cool, fun things and see how art shines by the Jing River. On the evening of April 25, the opening ceremony of the Third Shashi Wharf Arts Festival for Cultural and Creative Sectors was held. Attendees included Liu Huiping, a member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, who announced the opening of the event, and Jin Peng, Deputy Mayor of Jingzhou.

Liu Huiping spoke that this festival exploited the heritage of industry culture based on creation-oriented cultural tourism, playing a leading and exemplary role in revitalizing the city’s night-time economy. She thought it would surely become a cultural feast for all. She also hoped that the park would continue to leverage its resources and professionalism in the future, and boost the high-quality development of Jingzhou’s culture industry.

At the opening ceremony, cartoon characters “Jinxiaoxian” and “Shatouzai” of the Shashi Wharf Cultural and Creative Park were officially released. The park was awarded the following titles: “Teaching Base for the Party School of the CPC Jingzhou Committee,” “Training Base for the School of Art, Yangtze University” and “Training and Internship Base for the College of Arts and Sciences, Yangtze University.”

After the opening ceremony, the concert “Piano Songs Wafting through the Jing River, Life Coming Back to Everything” was held. During the festival, there will also be some other events held in the Shashi Wharf Cultural and Creative Park, including the contemporary art exhibition of the School of Art, Yangtze University, the short film contest “Eco-friendly Jing River, Picturesque Wharf,” the Starlight Tent Festival, the Night-time Neon Run, and the “Wu Lin Feng” National Youth Fighters League.
