Impact of First Chu Cultural Festival Lingers, and Delicacies in Jingzhou Beckon
Updated: 2023-05-31 19:22:41

When the charm of the First Chu Cultural Festival still lingers, delicacies in Jingzhou beckon. During the May Day holiday, you can have a bowl of morning liquor with beef offal, Guokuai (a kind of flatbread made from flour), cold shrimp, and thick flatbread with soft drinks at a food stall in an alley to live like a local resident.

On April 6 of this year, the China Movie Channel Awards & Chinese Film Big Data Ceremony introduced Jingzhou through live streaming. The “Food in Jingzhou” section introduced the tour of China Movie Channel’s host team in the Dasai Alley where they ate local snacks. This introductory promotion enticed more tourists to follow their steps.

As a food street that live in the memories of generations of people, the Dasai Alley is lined with nearly 150 catering stores and stalls, including many time-honored local brands in Jingzhou, as well as delicacies from across the country. As night falls, the lane will be bustled with a long queue of people and rising steam.

During the May Day holiday, Jingzhou will also present cultural tourism events to tourists from afar. Jingzhou Ancient City, Jingzhou Museum, Jingzhou Fantawild Oriental Heritage, Jingzhou Garden Expo, King of Chu’s Horse-drawn Chariots, among other scenic spots, has launched an array of exciting events. Whether you are going to explore the Chu culture with a history of 1000 years, visit historic sites with ties to revolutions, or live like a local resident, you can see a different side of the city during the tour.

Jingzhou is waiting for tourists from afar. Relying on the First Chu Cultural Festival and the May Day holiday, the city is opening its arms to welcome visitors from across the world.
