On May 16, Jingzhou Development Group and ADAMA signed a new energy strategic cooperation agreement to build a 10 MW distributed photovoltaic project, with an estimated annual power generation of 10 million kWh. This is also the first photovoltaic power generation project in the biomedical and chemical industry chain of Jingzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone.

According to the agreement, Jingzhou Development Group and ADAMA will jointly create a green park and build the first distributed photovoltaic project for ADAMA, which is expected to be connected to the grid this year. It was estimated that the power generation capacity of the project in its entire life cycle is about 250 million kWh, which can reduce carbon emissions by 180,000 tons compared with traditional energy power generation, and reduce energy costs for enterprises by more than RMB 37.5 million.

The partnership helped Jingzhou Development Group overcome technical challenges in building the distributed photovoltaic power generation project, which was a landmark for the group to promote its new energy business. Since the launch of SOEs’ three-year reform campaign in 2021, Jingzhou Development Group has actively explored new energy market and established Hubei Shengtuo New Energy Technology Company to provide new energy solutions for enterprises in the park. Especially in the field of industrial and commercial rooftop distributed photovoltaics, it has ranked among the forefront of similar enterprises in the province. According to statistics, at present, Jingzhou Development Group has built 24 photovoltaic power stations, and successfully connected to the grid for power generation of 50.5 MW. There are 9 projects under construction, and more than 60 projects have been signed. It is seeking cooperation with nearly 100 enterprises, with a reserve power capacity of 150 MW. By the end of the 14th Five Year Plan, it is expected to achieve an installed capacity of over 300 MW of photovoltaic power stations and annual revenue of over RMB 150 million, which will make it a regional leader in new energy sector.
