In order to implement the strategy of reinvigorating the city through human resource development proposed by the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Jingzhou Municipal Government, and help young people to settle down in Jingzhou, the group wedding ceremony of 100 young people and the first Family Culture Festival, co-sponsored by the Jingzhou Federation of Trade Unions, the Communist Youth League of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, and Jingzhou Women’s Federation, were launched in Jingzhou Garden Expo Park on the afternoon of May 20.
Li Shuibin, member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, read out the list of "Most Beautiful Families in Jingzhou" in 2023. Zhou Hanzhong, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Jingzhou Municipal People's Congress, and Wu Changjun, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Jinan Cultural Tourism District, attended the event. They presented awards to representatives of the most beautiful families and declared the opening of First Family Culture Festival.
Flowers bloom like a piece of brocade, and trees cast shadows like the ocean. The event was launched in the ancient dance opera The Jingjiang River. Afterwards, 100 newlyweds dressing in Chu costumes entered the venue in the classical music and applause from the audience by following Chu rituals. They completed the unique Chu-style wedding ceremony such as the three salutations, sharing nuptial cup, wedding letter signing, and holding ceremony, looking forward to a happy new life while paying tribute to the tradition. The head of the Jingzhou Federation of Trade Unions witnessed the wedding and extended sincere wishes to the newlyweds.
A couple who have celebrated their 62 years of diamond anniversary was invited to share the "happiness secret" on site. The head of the Communist Youth League of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee presented flowers to the couples on behalf of the teenagers in Jingzhou, and gave wedding gifts to them with leaders of Jingzhou Women’s Federation and Jingzhou Federation of Trade Unions.
It is said that the first Family Culture Festival is divided into 6 parts, namely, the Beautiful Family, Harmonious Family, Diligent Family, Honest Family, Cultural Family and Loving Family, which was held both online and offline, as well as in urban area and communities. The group wedding was a part of Loving Family activity.
