Updated: 2023-06-30 09:59:56

It was learned from the Bureau of Economy and Information Technology of Jingzhou on May 30 that there were 107 more companies recognized as provincial SRDI companies in Jingzhou this year, and that there were altogether 246 SRDI companies at the provincial level or above across the city, including 20 at the national level.

It weighs more than 450 tons, with a diameter of 6.35m and a length of three stories... An ultra-large butterfly turbine inlet valve has become a critical water control device at Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam (Tanzania). In September 2021, the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project purchased ultra-large butterfly turbine inlet valves from China. The contractor was Hubei Hongcheng General Machinery Co., Ltd. in Jingzhou and the turbine inlet butterfly valves it manufactured for the project featured the largest diameter in its history.

Like Hongcheng Machinery, there are many companies in Jingzhou which play a leading role in their market segments, including petroleum and petrochemical equipment, auto parts, new energy and new materials, and biomedicine. The number of such companies in Jingzhou ranks at the top in Hubei Province.

There is a robust industrial foundation that makes Jingzhou an incubator for SRDI companies. In 2022, the output value of Jingzhou equaled RMB310.82 billion, and its industrial investment increased by 53.6 percent, the highest growth in the province. This prompted a group of high-tech companies with strong innovation capabilities and an important position in their market segments to set up branches in Jingzhou. Altogether there are 1,695 small- and medium-sized technological companies, and 591 high-tech companies across the city.

In recent years, Jingzhou has put a high premium on the development of SMEs. It has established a team to cater to incubating SRDI companies, launched an echelon-based incubation project for high-quality companies, and introduced incentive and support policies for the growth of SMEs in the incubation list of companies above designated size to create new growth points for established companies and build up fledging ones. There are efforts to speed up “smart and digital transformation.” 136 smart transformation projects with a total investment of RMB11.73 billion have been launched. There are also efforts to scale up support for high-quality SMEs, and the financial bureau has introduced incentive policies to support the development of SRDI companies. A grant of RMB500,000 has been assigned to national SRDI companies recognized in 2019; and a grant of RMB200,000 has been given to provincial SRDI companies recognized in 2022. In addition to that, Jingzhou has released the Financial Support Plan for SRDI Companies to facilitate financing for SRDI companies.
