At 20:18 on June 3, concrete pouring was completed for the last box girder of the Jingzhou North Beam Fabricating Yard of the Jingzhou-Jingmen Railway. This represented the Beam Fabricating Yard at the 3rd Section of the Jingzhou-Jingmen Railway, a project undertaken by the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, completed the manufacturing of all 538 beams, laying a solid foundation for the follow-up construction of ballastless tracks and speeding up the completion of the railway project.
With a length of 18.931 km, constructing the main line of the 3rd section of the Jingzhou-Jingmen Railway involves efforts before station construction, interface connection after station construction, ballastless tracks, and box girder prefabrication and erection. Construction efforts include five bridges, three roadbeds, three frame culverts, four continuous beams, 11 cast-in-place simply supported beams, and 538 prefabricated box girders.
During construction, the project team ensured scientific and well-organized construction, integrated resource allocation, overcame negative impacts such as the need for the relocation of high voltage power lines, strengthened R & D efforts, launched socialist emulation and minor reforms and innovations of tools and equipment, and employed the most cutting-edge numerical control tools to ensure the efficiency of steel bar processing. Moreover, the computer-based intelligent control system was employed for pretensioning of box girders, and intelligent spraying and maintenance equipment was used to enable automatic collection and control of stress and elongation, synchronize data generation, and ensure safe and high-quality box girder prefabrication.
Hitherto, 483 standard box girders of the Jingzhou-Jingmen Railway have been erected, and all the remaining box girders are expected to be erected in late June.
The Jingzhou-Jingmen Railway is a key inter-regional transportation network in the national integrated transportation system during “13th Five-Year Plan” period, and it is also a key high-speed railway project in Hubei Province, with a design speed of 350 km/h. After being completed and opened to traffic, the railway will connect Jingmen and Jingzhou by rail, which has never happened before, and cut down the time of travel between the two places to 20 minutes.
