The week from July 10 to 16 is the 33rd National Energy Conservation Publicity Week, and this year’s theme is “Going Hand in Hand for Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction.” In recent years, Jingzhou has not only played a pioneering role in industrial energy conservation, but also channeled extensive efforts to develop energy-saving institutions throughout the city.
Hubei Bimei New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a new environmentally friendly company that produces biodiesel in Songzi of Jingzhou. For the purpose of energy conservation and emission reduction in daily production, several measures such as fully automated control, solar photovoltaic power generation, and circulating water systems, have been put into practice. The production of biodiesel from waste animal fats or vegetable oils is important to achieve the “double carbon” goal as it prevents the production “gutter oil,” as well as further reduces carbon emissions in end-use.
Located in Lingang Industrial Park, Songzi, Shiyu New Building Materials (Jingzhou) Co., Ltd. ensures the use of harmless and recycling-based production methods with less phosphogypsum, and produces architectural products such as gypsum boards surfaced with paper and gypsum powder through the transformative use of phosphogypsum. This not only solves the environmental problems caused by massive phosphogypsum stockpiles, but also promotes the high-quality development of the whole local phosphorus chemical industry.
Hualu Hengsheng is a company in the new energy and new material industrial base of Jiangling. It aims at energy saving, emission reduction, and efficiency improvement, and step up technological and model innovations. Equipped with cutting-edge technologies from across the world, its unit devices achieve a thermal efficiency of 95%. Moreover, energy-saving technologies are extended to the nerve endings of these devices to for reduction in power consumption, steam consumption, and carbon emission.
In addition to vigorous efforts to conserve industrial energy, there are steady efforts to advance the establishment of energy-saving institutions across the city. The Shashi District Service Center for Government Offices has integrated energy conservation and consumption reduction into all aspects of property services. It has harnessed all possible means to save electricity, water, and oil, advocated green travel for employees, and prioritized limited financial funds for people’s livelihood and economic development. The Jingzhou Service Center for Government Offices has laid down specific regulations on energy, gas, water, and food saving in accordance with energy saving requirements for public institutions. Moreover, promotional videos and signs were employed in public areas to guide canteen diners to purchase meals on demand, and resolutely avoid food waste.
Since the call for conservation-oriented institutions, 262 Party and government institutions have completed the transition to conservation-oriented institutions, and the remaining 192 institutions have applied for such a transition in 2022. During the Energy Conservation Publicity Week, government departments will launch a series of promotional activities across companies, government institutions, communities, and families to raise the effectiveness of energy conservation and carbon reduction.
