On July 11, Jingzhou Voluntary Service Team for Foreign Affairs was formally established. At the launch ceremony, Xu Xiaohong, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, hoped that volunteers would find out how to coalesce Chinese and foreign cultures, their shared expressions and their commonalities that strike chords with people’s hearts in their services, promote the Chu, Three Kingdoms, Yangtze River, and Red cultures to foreign guests and media, disseminate role models and stories in Jingzhou to overseas countries, and let the world “understand China” through an understanding of Jingzhou.
The team consists of 36 outstanding specialists in foreign languages, including English, German, French, Russian, Japanese, and Korean, recruited by the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee from across the city. Their main responsibilities are to provide translation and reception services for foreign-related activities.
