Recently, the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the 2023 Central Budget Investment Plan for Water Safety Guarantee.  Jingzhou City has secured a total of 383 million yuan of special funds from the central budget to support the construction of 14 pumping station renovation (new construction, renovation and expansion) projects in the Jingzhou City area.  This is a special fund from the central budget for water safety guarantee special projects (key areas for flood drainage capacity construction) that Jingzhou departments have worked together to strive for a higher amount in recent years.

It is reported that the renovation (new construction, reconstruction and expansion) project of 14 pumping stations is a project to revitalize water conservancy and make up for shortcomings in Hubei Province after the epidemic. Since 2021, the Jingzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission has seized opportunities with relevant municipal departments to guide relevant counties (cities, districts) to actively promote the early stage of the project. It has completed 14 project feasibility study reports and 13 project preliminary design reports. At the same time, we will intensify efforts to fight for the top, and successfully won 137 million yuan of funds from the central budget for project construction in 2022. At present, 11 projects have started construction, and some project construction has reached the trial operation stage.

The 14 pumping stations for the construction of drainage capacity in key areas of Jingzhou are responsible for the drainage of more than 4.2 million mu of farmland in Jingzhou.  After the completion of the project, it can not only meet the drainage requirements of the lower reaches of the Jingjiang River, but also drain part of the waterlogged water in the middle and upper reaches of the Jingjiang River, reducing the The water level of the inner embankment lake can relieve the pressure of waterlogging during the flood season, and during the drainage period,  the field water can be discharged into the main drainage rivers such as the Yangtze River and the main canal of the four lakes, so as to realize both field and lake drainage and play a significant role in drainage.
