On the morning of October 16th, the Municipal Government Information Office held the 2023 National Freshwater Fisheries High Quality Development Exchange Conference and the 6th Chu Cuisine Food Expo press conference, introducing the progress of the conference preparation and activity arrangements.

The event was co-organized by the China Aquatic Products Circulation and Processing Association, the Hubei Provincial Agricultural Development Center, and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government. From October 21st to 22nd, Jingzhou City will hold the opening ceremony, a large water surface ecological fishery seminar, a national freshwater fishery exhibition, the founding meeting of the Jingzhou Fisheries Association, the 2023 National Freshwater Fisheries High-Quality Development Exchange Conference, the Sixth Chu Seven major events, including the Vegetable Food Expo and the National Freshwater Fish Cooking Competition, to promote the "China Freshwater Fishing Capital" and "Chu Cuisine Hometown, Chu Flavor Source" food brands, and accelerate the high-quality development of Jingzhou City's freshwater fishery.

It is worth mentioning that this Chu Cuisine Food Expo is the first time this event has been held in a prefecture-level city. During the event, Chu cuisine delicacies and special snacks will be displayed and sold. You can taste special delicacies from all over the province without leaving Jingzhou.

Jingzhou City is a major fishery city. In 2022, the city's aquaculture area was 1.87 million acres, and the total output of freshwater products was 1.222 million tons. The area and output ranked first among prefecture-level cities in the country for 29 consecutive years, and it was awarded the title of "China's First Freshwater Fishery City" . In recent years, Jingzhou City has closely focused on the goal of "building a freshwater fishing capital and building a strong aquatic city" and adhered to the development ideas of "improving quality and efficiency, reducing volume and increasing income, green development, and enriching fishermen", and accelerated the structural reform of the fishery supply side. The fishery situation is developing well and has become Jingzhou's characteristic industry, a wealth-making industry for farmers and a pillar industry of Jingzhou's rural economy.
