On the morning of October 23, accompanied by the roar of the bridge erecting machine, the first prefabricated box girder of the first phase of the civil construction of the Jiangling to Songzi section of the Wusong Expressway was successfully tested. This was also the first time that the entire Jiangling to Songzi section of the Wusong Expressway was erected. The box beam marks that the project construction has officially entered the superstructure construction stage.

The total length of the 1st civil engineering bid of the first phase of Jiangling-Songzi section of Wu Song Expressway, which was built by China Railway 11th Bureau, is 13.114 kilometers.  There are 25 bridges in the bid section, and 1480 30-meter box beams and 209 40-meter box beams need to be erected. The project department specially selected a self-balancing bridge erecting machine with wide operating range, excellent performance, convenient operation and safe structure to erect precast box girders, and successfully completed the assembly on October 11th.

We will carry out box girder erection construction at the speed of producing and erecting four beams per day, "said Lu Guojun, the project manager of this section. In August of this year, the project department built the first" modern intelligent precast beam yard "for the entire line. The beam field covers an area of approximately 76 acres, equivalent to the size of 7 football fields. It has set up 4 intelligent production lines to achieve factory and assembly line prefabrication of box beams, effectively improving the quality and production efficiency of box beam products, and providing strong support for box beam erection construction.

The designed length of the Jiangling to Songzi section of the Wusong Expressway is about 55.25 kilometers, with an estimated total investment of about 15.864 billion yuan and a construction period of 54 months. It is an important connecting passage in the "Nine Verticals, Five Horizontals, and Four Rings" of Hubei Province and one of the key construction projects in Jingzhou City. After completion, it will connect key cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt of Hubei, such as Wuhan, Xianning, Jingzhou, and Yichang. It is crucial to build a highway passage along the Yangtze River and promote social and economic exchanges in the region along the river, Promoting high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is of great significance.  As of now, the cumulative completed investment of this project is about 6.1 billion yuan, accounting for about 40% of the total investment.
