From November 18 to 19, Shi Zheng, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese led a delegation to Jingzhou for the Overseas Chinese Entrepreneur Tour. More than 40 overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and leaders from Canada, Hubei, Hunan, and Anhui, among other places, gathered to seek common development and discuss the future. Hou Jiwen, a member of the Leading Party Members’ Group, Vice Chairman and Secretary-general of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Zhou Changjun, a member of the Standing Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, and Huang Xing, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Jingzhou Municipal Committee.
At the site of the King of Chu’s Horse-drawn Chariots, overseas Chinese entrepreneurs attended the unveiling ceremony of the Hubei International Cultural Exchange Base for Overseas Chinese and had a first-hand experience of thoughtful policies for overseas Chinese and a wide range of cultural activities tailored to them. At Jingzhou Museum, Binyang Tower, and Zhang Juzheng’s Former Residence, overseas Chinese entrepreneurs got fully immersed in exploring the unique charm of Jingzhou Ancient City.
In the city exhibition hall of Jingzhou University Town, overseas Chinese entrepreneurs watched promotional videos and display boards in the exhibition area designated for the Jingzhou Industrial Innovation Exhibition Center, experienced interactive multimedia, and spoke highly of Jingzhou’s "4+6+1+1" modern industrial system and business environment. Moreover, they inquired about investment promotion policies from relevant departments, and exchanged ideas on cooperation in high-end equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, modern processing of agricultural products, and modern service industries.
During investigations in the Jinmaoyuan (Central China) Industrial Park for Circular Economy and Hubei Yijun Yaoneng New Material Co., Ltd., of which specialized, precision, and intelligent products were spoken highly of by overseas Chinese entrepreneurs, the responsible persons of these two companies detailed on production technology and market prospects in accordance with the early intention of the representative team to intensify pragmatic cooperation. The two sides also exchanged ideas on cross-border e-commerce, trade cooperation, corporate management, among other aspects.
In recent years, the Jingzhou Municipal Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese came up with new ideas about how to cater to the needs of overseas Chinese, and worked to guarantee the effectiveness of services and incentivize overseas Chinese entrepreneurs to start businesses in Jingzhou through the recommendation of their acquaintances. There were concrete efforts to release policy information on investment promotion and talent acquisition and launch activities such as the Homecoming Tour for Overseas Chinese, timely publicize and promote the latest policies, initiatives, and key projects to overseas Chinese, guide and incentivize overseas Chinese entrepreneurs to invest and start businesses in Jingzhou as well as contribute to the high-quality development of Jingzhou.
