On March 28, the Hubei China-Canada Seminar 2024 on Low-carbon-oriented Urban Renewal was held in Jingzhou. It was jointly sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, Jingzhou Municipal People’s Government, and FII China, and organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jingzhou Municipal People’s Government.

The theme of the conference was “Boosting Green Development in Jingzhou, Seeking a Low-carbon Future.” Zhu Xiaobin, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, Li Gan, Deputy Mayor of Jingzhou, and persons on behalf of FII China delivered speeches at the seminar.

Zhu Xiaobin reviewed the positive achievements of promotion meetings, seminars, among other exchange activities, with FII China of the Government of British Columbia over the years. He hoped that this seminar would further strengthen exchanges between China and Canada on construction standards and technologies, boost productivity based on low carbon and green energy, and create a beautiful world for peaceful coexistence between man and nature.

Li Gan said that, in recent years, Jingzhou scaled up its efforts to develop urban infrastructure, and upgrade industrial structure for the purpose of fully promoting economic and social development. He also said that Canadian companies and institutions were welcome to come to Jingzhou for investigations, exchanges, investment and business activities, and become a beneficiary of green, low-carbon and high-quality development.

The heads of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hubei Province, FII China, and the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Huazhong University of Science and Technology discussed and exchanged ideas with each other and delivered keynote speeches on “Experience on Green and Low-Carbon Development and Urban Renewal.”
