King Chu Mausoleum Scenic Spot

King Chu Mausoleum Scenic Spot is located 35kilometers away from Jingzhou downtown, taking an area of 731 mu (1 mu≈666.7square meters). There are four function sectors in the scenicspot includingKing Chu Mausoleumand Queen ChuMausoleum Recovered Display Area, Sacrificial Tombs DisplayArea,Chariots and Horses Array SiteDisplay Hall, and Garden and Ecological Agriculture Scenery Area.


King Chu Mausoleum Scenic Spot is a high rankking tomb and chariots and horses array site discovered in China with thelargest scale, highest quality, best reservation condition and richest relics,a grandeur wonder of the world! Mr. Zhang Zhongpei, president of theInstitute of Archaeology,Chinese Academyof Social Sciences, oncehighlypraisedit as "the only one in China and No.1 in the world".

In November 2005, the archaeological excavation startedunder the approval of the StateAdministration of Cultural Heritage, and over 3,000 pieces (sets) of precious culturalrelics wereexcavated on a total area of 31,000 square metersin 2008. In March 2010, the StateAdministration of Cultural Heritage  and Hubeiprovince signed the "Agreement on JointConstruction of Large Site Protection Jingzhou", making Jingzhou the thirdnational cultural relics protection large site after Xi'an and Luoyang. In December 2013, the ScenicSpot was officiallyapproved asa national archaeology site park; in 2014, it was honored as China's Most Valuable Cultural (Heritage)Tourist Destination. Mr. Qiao Yu, a famous lyricist, highly praised the scenicspot after a visit:"There is Emperor Qingshihuang’s MausoleumSite Museum at the north, and King Chu Mausoleum Scenic Spot at thesouth."
