As a traditional Shashi breakfast dish, Zaotang Noodleshas more than 100 years history. As for the origin of Zaotang noodles, aconvincing story is that, after the docks of Shashi opened in 1895, a noodle restaurant owner noticed that because of the heavy physical labor, the workersat the docks liked eating food with rich fat. So he made the noodles with tastysoup and rich fat. The worker usually ate at therestaurant at dawn before they went to work on the dock, so the noodles won thename of Zaotang Noodles (Breakfast Noodles).
