According to the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the P.R.China, institutions abroad (hereinafter referred to asvisa-granting offices abroad) entrusted by Chinese embassy, consulate or Ministry of Foreign Affairs in foreign countries are responsible to sign andissue the foreigner visas out of China. Frontier inspection office shall beresponsible for the frontier exit and entry inspection. Public securityorganization and the exit and entry administrative agency of local people’sgovernment above county level are responsible for the management on stay andresidence of foreigners. Within the respective scope of official duties, theMinistry of Public Security of the P.R.China and the Ministry of ForeignAffairs of the P.R.China can entrust the exit and entry administrative agencyof public security organization as well as foreign affairs section of localpeople’s government above county level to deal with the entry, stay andresidence application of foreigners. Respecting to the management on exit andentry affairs, the Ministry of Public Security of the P.R.China and theMinistry of Foreign Affairs of the P.R.China shall strengthen the communicationand cooperation and work with relevant departments of the State Council toexercise their authorities and assume the responsibilities according to thedivision of duties.

If theduration of stay noted on the visa is no more than 180 days, the visa holdershall stay in China according to the note on visa. If the duration of stayneeds to be extended, visa holder shall submit the application to the exit andentry administrative agency of public security organization of the local people’sgovernment above county level 7 days in advance at the expiration of theduration and provide relevant materials as required. After review, approval forthe extension will be given to reasonable and justifiable reasons. If theapplication fails, the visa holder shall leave China on schedule. The extendedduration of stay shall accumulatively not exceed the duration of stayoriginally noted on the visa.

 After entering China, any renewal and reissue of ordinary visa and residence permitwhich have been damaged, missed, stolen or robbed or for justifiable reasonsshall be applied to the exit and entry administrative agency of public securityorganization of the local people’s government above county level.
